The Lonely Crowd
The Lonely Crowd - a book by sociologist David Reisman. The Lonely Crowd (1950) was a major sociological study of the managerial (managers) class of workers in the USA in the post War World II. He concluded that the new corporate men were "other - directed," more attuned to their associates that driven by their own goals.
